JSBIT at Texas Blockchain Summit 2022
By Alan Martinez & Cindy He, Dec 9, 2022
Jsbit’s own Alan Martinez and Cindy He had the opportunity of flying out and attending the Texas Blockchain Summit held on Nov 17-18. This is a yearly event held in Texas by the council founded by Lee Bratcher and executed by his phenomenal team. We were glad to witness Chad Harris, Dennis Porter, Andrew Yang, Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano, Ted Cruz, and other top Bitcoin advocates and policy-makers share their actionable insights about the market and educate attendees on the benefits of bitcoin mining. The summit was filled with passionate people that contributed their thoughts and knowledge, which helped the whole community become more accountable and aware.
This event took place just days after the well known Exchange “FTX” was found to be insolvent and could no longer fulfill their clients needs due to mismanagement of funds. One would think that the room would be filled with somber individuals losing hope in this industry but in fact nothing could be further from the truth. We were told by multiple people on stage and on the floor that the exchanges failed us not Bitcoin/Blockchain and that this is exactly why consumers and miners should be protected. The idea of not your keys not your bitcoin was stronger than ever and those who are experiencing their first ever bear market will hopefully learn from this experience and make better decisions moving forward. As for those who are miners and directly deposit funds into their own wallet they slept soundly knowing that they were able to dodge these negative effects that happened in the last few weeks. This goes to show just how beneficial mining can be for those looking to stay for the long term.
Jsbit would like to thank the Texas Blockchain Council for hosting this incredible event. It was a great opportunity to learn more about Bitcoin mining in Texas and how this state will continue to advance the industry with strong support for Bitcoin mining. We also gained valuable insights regarding the “FTX” fallout and how it will shape the industry. Jsbit established a strong presence in this event by connecting with attendees from different industries to help people reduce the barrier of entry into mining. This was done by educating and sharing information with one another.
